Installation Notes

Open tailgate fully and support with a prop rod or helper.
Locate the upper and lower ball joint connectors on each factory gas spring.
Using a small flathead screwdriver, carefully pry off the retaining clips from each ball joint.
Disconnect the old spring and remove it from the vehicle.
Position the new gas spring, aligning the upper and lower ball joints with the mounting points.
Press the ball joints firmly into place until the retaining clips snap securely.
Test the tailgate operation—it should open and close smoothly with controlled resistance.
Repeat for the second gas spring on the opposite side.
