Overview

Installation Notes

Difficulty Level: Moderate | Time: 45–90 minutes

Raise and secure the vehicle on axle stands. Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack.
Remove the rear differential skid plate (if equipped) and drain or plug transmission fluid as needed.
Disconnect the propshaft at both the transmission output and the rear axle. Mark alignment points with a marker to ensure correct reassembly.
Support the propshaft with a transmission jack or similar support block.
Unbolt the carrier bearing bracket (four bolts, typically 16–18 mm). The bearing will lower slightly as the support releases.
Slide out the old bearing and inspect the mounting bore for wear, cracks, or corrosion. Clean thoroughly.
Install the new bearing by sliding it onto the propshaft shaft, ensuring the inner race sits flush.
Re-bolt the bracket to the vehicle frame, torquing bolts to OEM spec (typically 35–40 Nm). Do not over-torque.
Reconnect the propshaft at the transmission and axle, aligning your marks precisely.
Top up fluid and road-test for smooth acceleration and absence of vibration.
