Overview
The cooling system on your Freelander LR2, Range Rover Evoque, or Discovery Sport is engineered to manage heat under demanding conditions. The oil cooler pipe and water inlet connector are critical interfaces that regulate oil temperature and prevent overheating—especially important in turbo diesel engines running at full capacity.
This OE-specification replacement connector restores original functionality if your existing unit shows signs of age, minor corrosion, or reduced cooling efficiency. Engineered to the same tolerances and materials as the factory original (OEM LR021623), it integrates seamlessly into your existing cooling circuit with zero modifications.
Whether you're replacing a worn component proactively or addressing a known fault, this connector delivers reliable, consistent performance for the lifespan of your vehicle.

Installation Notes
Difficulty Level: Intermediate | Time: 45–90 minutes
-
Drain Engine Oil & Coolant: Allow the engine to cool completely. Open the drain plugs and catch waste fluid in a suitable container. Dispose of responsibly.
-
Remove Existing Connector: Locate the oil cooler pipe connector on the engine block. Unbolt or unclip it (typically 2–3 fasteners). Note the hose routing before disconnection.
-
Disconnect Hoses: Gently remove inlet and outlet hoses. Some coolant residue may drip—have clean cloths ready.
-
Install New Connector: Position the replacement unit in the same orientation. Align mounting holes and insert bolts. Tighten firmly but do not over-torque.
-
Reconnect Hoses: Reattach inlet and outlet hoses in their original positions. Check clamps are tight and secure.
-
Refill Fluids: Pour fresh engine oil and coolant back into the system according to specification (refer to your service manual for correct volumes and grades).
-
Bleed Air: Start the engine and run at idle for 2–3 minutes. Look for leaks around the new connector and hose joints. Top up coolant as needed.
-
Test & Monitor: Drive gently for the first 10 km to confirm stable temperature readings. Check under the bonnet once more after 20 km.
⚠ Important: Do not start the engine with low coolant levels. Always dispose of used oil and coolant at a licensed recycling facility—never pour down the drain. If you're unfamiliar with cooling system work, have a qualified technician complete this job to avoid air locks or contamination.
