Installation Notes

Preparation: Allow engine to cool completely. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Drain coolant into a clean container (you will reuse it).

Remove inlet hose: Locate the upper radiator hose and loosen the spring clamp at the thermostat housing. Gently withdraw the hose; be prepared for minor coolant spillage.

Unbolt old housing: Remove two M10 bolts securing the thermostat housing to the engine block. Carefully lift away the old assembly and discard the rubber gasket.

Clean mating surface: Use a soft cloth and isopropyl alcohol to remove old gasket residue from the engine block. Ensure the surface is dry and free of debris.

Install new assembly: Position the new thermostat housing over the dowel pins, align the bolt holes, and hand-tighten both bolts. Torque to 25 Nm (18 ft-lbs) in a cross pattern.

Reconnect hose: Slide the inlet hose onto the new housing outlet nipple. Secure the spring clamp firmly—ensure no twisting or kinking.

Refill coolant: Pour your reserved coolant (or fresh OEM mix at 50/50 ratio) into the expansion tank until it reaches the MIN line. Start the engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature, then top up as needed.
