Installation Notes

Prepare: Allow engine to cool completely. Disconnect negative battery terminal and remove engine cover if equipped.

Drain coolant: Open radiator petcock and drain coolant into a container. Catch and dispose of properly.

Remove old housing: Unbolt the thermostat housing from its mounting points (typically 2–3 bolts). Disconnect coolant hoses and electrical connectors.

Clean mounting surface: Wipe the engine block mounting face with a lint-free cloth. Remove old gasket material.

Install new housing: Position the new assembly and hand-tighten bolts. Torque to 25 Nm (18 ft-lb) in a cross pattern.

Reconnect hoses: Reattach coolant inlet and outlet hoses. Ensure clips are secure.

Refill coolant: Use OEM-approved Land Rover or Jaguar coolant (50/50 mix). Bleed air by running engine at idle for 2–3 minutes.
