Disconnect Battery: Isolate the negative terminal. Leave for 10 minutes to clear residual charge.

Remove Timing Cover: Unbolt and carefully separate the timing cover from the crankshaft nose. Note gasket condition.

Locate Seal: The front oil seal sits directly behind the crankshaft sprocket. Mark its orientation with tape.

Extract Old Seal: Using a small pry tool or seal puller, gently lever the seal out. Work around the circumference to avoid damaging the bore.

Clean Bore: Wipe the crankshaft nose and bore with a lint-free cloth. Remove all old rubber debris and oil residue.

Install New Seal: Apply a thin film of fresh engine oil to the new seal's outer edge. Press it squarely into the bore using a socket matching the seal outer diameter, or a seal installer tool.

Reassemble Cover: Use a new gasket (not included). Torque timing cover bolts to 10 Nm in a star pattern.

Refill Oil: Top up to the upper dipstick mark. Start engine and check for leaks before extended use.
