Overview
This thermostat assembly is engineered for Land Rover Range Rover Evoque (2012–), Range Rover Sport (2014–), Discovery Sport, Discovery, Range Rover Velar, and select Jaguar models (F-Type, XE, XF, F-Pace, E-Pace) fitted with the 2.0L turbocharged petrol AJ200P engine. The thermostat housing integrates directly into the engine's cooling circuit and regulates coolant flow to maintain precise operating temperature.
This replacement assembly includes the thermostat valve, durable PP and metal housing, and a factory-spec gasket—everything needed for a complete, leak-free installation. Unlike loose thermostat elements, this integrated housing design eliminates compatibility guesswork and delivers OEM-level performance with aftermarket pricing.
If your vehicle is running hot, the temperature gauge fluctuates, or you're experiencing coolant leaks at the thermostat housing junction, this assembly restores engine thermal management and extends powertrain longevity. Designed to OEM specifications and validated across Land Rover and Jaguar platforms.

Installation
Difficulty Level: Intermediate | Time: 1–2 hours
-
Prepare the engine: Allow the engine to cool fully. Drain the cooling system into a clean container by opening the radiator petcock and thermostat housing drain plugs.
-
Disconnect hoses: Unbolt or unclip upper and lower coolant hoses from the old thermostat housing. Some hose clamps may require a hose clamp removal tool.
-
Remove mounting bolts: Locate the 2–3 housing mounting bolts (typically M8 or M10). Use a socket set to remove them fully. The housing will lift clear of the engine block.
-
Inspect the mating surface: Wipe the engine block thermostat pocket with a lint-free cloth and degreaser. Remove old gasket material with a soft plastic scraper. Do not gouge the metal surface.
-
Install new gasket and housing: Place the supplied gasket on the engine block. Align the new thermostat assembly housing and hand-start all mounting bolts to avoid cross-threading.
-
Torque to spec: Tighten bolts in a star pattern to 20–25 Nm (15–18 ft-lb). Do not over-torque composite housing.
-
Reconnect coolant lines: Reattach upper and lower hoses. Use new hose clamps if originals show wear or corrosion. Tighten clamps evenly.
-
Refill coolant: Add fresh 50/50 coolant (pre-mixed) to the radiator and overflow reservoir. Fill to the max line cold. Run the engine and top up as air purges.
-
Bleed air and test: With the heater set to maximum, run the engine at 2,000 rpm for 2–3 minutes. Listen for gurgling and feel upper radiator hose for steady warmth. Check for leaks at the housing joint.
-
Final check: Once cool, verify coolant level and inspect the thermostat housing seam for weeping. Road test to confirm temperature gauge stabilizes at normal operating range.
⚠ Warning: Never open the cooling system on a hot engine—coolant reaches 120°C. Always wear eye protection when draining and refilling. If hoses show cracks, bulging, or hardening, replace them now. Use only OEM-approved or equivalent coolant; mixing types can cause corrosion.
