Installation Notes

You'll need: 10mm socket wrench, belt-tension gauge, serpentine belt tool (optional but recommended), torque wrench.

Disconnect battery negative terminal and wait 5 minutes for capacitor discharge.

Locate tensioner pulley on driver's side, below alternator. Mark old belt routing with a diagram for reference.

Release tension: Loosen tensioner bolt (usually 10mm) until belt slips free. Do not remove bolt fully.

Remove old belt carefully. Inspect pulleys for wear, cracks, or contamination—replace if damaged.

Route new belt following marked diagram. Ensure proper seating on all pulleys (alternator, water pump, air compressor, crankshaft, tensioner).

Apply tension: Tighten tensioner until belt deflection is 10–15 mm midway between pulleys, or use tension gauge (112–126 N).

Torque tensioner bolt to 25 Nm. Do not over-torque.

Reconnect battery. Start engine and listen for slip (squealing indicates under-tension). Run for 2 minutes and re-check tension.

Road test at varied speeds and loads. Normal operation confirms installation success.
Critical: Over-tensioning accelerates bearing wear and can damage water pump seals. Under-tensioning causes slip and overheating. If unfamiliar with this procedure, have a qualified technician install it. Incorrect installation voids warranty.
