- Ensure the vehicle interior is at room temperature. Cold surfaces can reduce adhesive effectiveness — avoid installation in temperatures below 10°C.
- Thoroughly clean the existing gear shift frame surround using an isopropyl alcohol wipe or a lint-free cloth with interior cleaner. Remove all dust, grease, and residue. Allow to dry completely.
- Dry-fit the trim piece over the gear shift frame without removing the adhesive backing. Confirm the alignment and check that all edges sit flush with the surrounding interior surfaces.
- Peel back a small section of the adhesive backing and carefully position one edge of the trim against the gear shift frame, using your dry-fit reference points to guide placement.
- Press the trim firmly into place, working from one side to the other to eliminate any air pockets. Apply firm, even pressure across the entire surface for 30–60 seconds.
- Allow the adhesive to cure for a minimum of 24 hours before subjecting the trim to heavy use or cleaning.
⚠ Note: Do not attempt to reposition the trim once the adhesive has made full contact with the surface. If adjustment is needed, act immediately before the bond sets. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners directly on the trim surface, as these may affect the finish over time.
