Disconnect the battery. Remove the negative terminal to de-energize the fuel system and prevent accidental ignition.

Access the fuel tank. Depending on your model, this may require removing interior trim, the rear seat, or undercarriage covers. Consult your service manual for exact location.

Disconnect the fuel pump module connector. Carefully unplug the electrical harness from the old module. Note the pin configuration for the new unit.

Remove the retaining ring. Use a fuel pump wrench (often included) to carefully unscrew and lift the old module—fuel may still be present.

Install the new module. Lower the replacement unit into the tank, align the connector posts, and hand-thread the retaining ring until snug.
