Overview
The Land Rover Freelander LR2 (2008–2012) with the 3.2L petrol engine relies on a precise cooling system architecture. Radiator hose failures—whether in the expansion tank feed line, engine discharge, or return path—compromise coolant circulation, risk overheating, and can lead to catastrophic engine damage if left unaddressed.
This OEM-spec radiator hose kit delivers factory-correct rubber and PP (polypropylene) construction for all three critical cooling circuits in your LR2. Each hose is engineered to OEM tolerance, thermal specification, and pressure rating, ensuring seamless drop-in replacement without modification or adaptation.
Whether you're addressing a split hose, replacing brittle coolant lines after high mileage, or executing preventative maintenance on your LR2, this kit gives you the reliability and fit quality that restores cooling system confidence.

Installation Notes
Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 45–75 minutes
-
Disconnect the battery negative terminal and wait 5 minutes for residual voltage to drain.
-
Allow the engine to cool completely. Do not open the coolant system while hot; risk of severe burns.
-
Position a drain pan beneath the radiator. Open the lower radiator bleed screw and allow coolant to drain into a waste container (do not dump down drains).
-
Locate each hose clamp using the OEM diagram (part numbers correspond to circuit location). Remove clamps using a flat-blade screwdriver or hose clamp tool.
-
Gently twist and pull each hose away from its fitting. Do not force; apply penetrating oil if hoses are seized.
-
Inspect all connection ports for corrosion or debris. If present, flush lightly with clean water and dry thoroughly.
-
Install new hoses in reverse order, starting with the expansion tank feed (LR000933), then radiator return (LR006165), then engine discharge (LR019341).
-
Refit hose clamps snugly—firm but not over-tightened. Over-tightening ruptures reinforced hose walls.
-
Refill the coolant reservoir with the correct OEM specification (Jaguar Land Rover Genuine Coolant or approved equivalent). Do not mix brands.
-
Bleed air from the cooling circuit: Start the engine with the radiator cap loose, run for 2–3 minutes at idle, then top up coolant as bubbles rise and escape.
-
Reinstall the radiator cap and monitor temperature gauge for 10 minutes of road testing at light load.
Important: Coolant is highly toxic to animals and humans. Dispose of old coolant through a licensed automotive waste facility. Never pour used coolant down drains or onto soil. Wear nitrile gloves and eye protection when handling hoses and fittings.
