Installation Notes
Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 45–90 minutes
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait 5 minutes for systems to power down.
- Remove the engine cover and intake ducting to access the throttle body mounting bolts.
- Disconnect the electronic connector from the old throttle body sensor.
- Unbolt the throttle body from the intake manifold (typically 4 × M8 bolts—10 Nm).
- Remove the old gasket and clean the manifold seating surface with a soft cloth.
- Install the new gasket from the kit onto the manifold.
- Lower the new throttle body assembly into place and hand-thread the bolts.
- Tighten bolts in a cross pattern to 10 Nm (7 ft·lb) using a calibrated torque wrench.
- Reconnect the electronic sensor harness—ensure it clicks fully home.
- Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
- Start the engine and allow it to idle for 60 seconds while the system relearns throttle position.
- Clear any existing fault codes using a diagnostic scanner (optional but recommended).
Important: Do not force the electronic connector—it must click into place smoothly. If fault codes reappear after installation, the battery may need disconnecting for 30 minutes to allow the engine control unit to complete its relearn cycle.
