- Begin with the vehicle parked, engine off, and the interior at ambient temperature. Avoid installation in cold or damp conditions as adhesive performance may be reduced.
- Thoroughly clean the target surface — the gear panel surround — using isopropyl alcohol (IPA) on a lint-free cloth. Remove all traces of dust, grease, and any existing silicone or polish residue.
- Allow the surface to dry completely for a minimum of 5 minutes before proceeding. Do not touch the cleaned area with bare hands.
- Test-fit the panel cover without removing the adhesive backing. Confirm alignment against the gear surround edges and ensure no catches or gaps are present.
- Peel the adhesive backing from the panel cover. Starting from one end, carefully press the cover into position along the gear frame, applying firm, even pressure across the full surface.
- Run your fingers along all edges and press firmly for 30–60 seconds to activate the adhesive bond fully.
- Avoid operating or placing pressure on the panel for at least 24 hours to allow the adhesive to cure to full strength.
⚠ Note: Do not attempt installation immediately after cleaning with products containing silicone, wax, or oil-based compounds — these will prevent the adhesive from bonding correctly. If the panel is being installed in winter, bring the vehicle interior to room temperature first.
