- Gently remove door panel trim inserts or lower sill trim pieces to expose the routing channel. No permanent removal is necessary — light prying with a trim tool is sufficient on most Evoque variants.
- Clean the mounting surface thoroughly with an isopropyl alcohol wipe and allow to dry completely before applying the adhesive-backed fiber optic strips. This ensures a lasting bond.
- Route each fiber optic strip along the desired panel line — typically along the lower door card edge or accent trim groove — following the natural contour of the interior surface.
- Connect each strip's light source unit to a switched 12V feed, such as the courtesy light circuit or an existing interior lighting circuit, so the ambient lights activate with the cabin lighting.
- Tuck all wiring neatly behind trim panels using the existing cable routing channels and refit all trim pieces. Test each strip individually before final reassembly.
- Power on and verify uniform illumination across all four strips. Minor positional adjustments can be made within the first few minutes before the adhesive fully cures.
⚠ Note: Always disconnect the vehicle's negative battery terminal before working with interior wiring circuits. If you are unfamiliar with automotive electrics, we recommend having the wiring connection completed by a qualified auto electrician.
