Installation Notes
Difficulty: Easy · Estimated Time: 30–60 Minutes · Tools Required: Trim removal tool, flathead screwdriver
- Park the vehicle on a level surface and ensure the engine is off and fully cool before beginning work near the front fascia.
- Open the bonnet and locate the upper grille retaining clips along the top edge of the front bumper assembly. Gently release using a trim removal tool.
- Working from the top down, carefully unclip the factory grille from the bumper aperture. Take care not to apply excessive force to the surrounding paintwork or bumper trim.
- Disconnect any ambient lighting or chrome surround clips if applicable to your variant and set the original grille aside safely.
- Align the new all-black grille into the aperture, starting from the lower edge and pressing firmly at each clip point until all retaining clips engage with an audible click.
- Secure the upper clips and check that the panel gaps are even and consistent across the full width of the grille.
- Step back and inspect the fitment from distance. Make any minor adjustments before closing the bonnet.
Important: If your L405 is fitted with an active grille shutter system or front-facing camera mounted within the grille surround, please confirm component clearance before installation. We recommend professional fitting if you are unsure about any sensor or camera routing near the front bumper aperture.
