- Open the tailgate fully and locate the interior trim panel covering the tail light mounting points on both sides of the boot aperture.
- Carefully remove the trim panel using a trim removal tool to expose the rear light retaining bolts and wiring connector.
- Disconnect the factory wiring harness connector from the existing tail light unit — press the release tab firmly before pulling.
- Remove the retaining bolts (typically 3 per side) and gently pull the original tail light unit away from the body aperture.
- Align the new facelift-style tail light unit into the aperture, ensuring all mounting studs are correctly seated before applying torque.
- Reconnect the wiring harness until the connector clicks firmly into place, then refit the retaining bolts and trim panel.
- Repeat on the opposite side, then test all light functions — stop, indicator, reverse, and running lights — before driving.
