Installation Notes
Difficulty: Intermediate · Estimated Time: 30–60 Minutes
- Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface with the ignition fully off. Allow the vehicle to rest for at least 60 seconds before beginning.
- Using a trim removal tool, carefully prise out the existing climate control panel from the centre console. Work from the edges inward to avoid scratching surrounding trim.
- Locate the factory wiring connector behind the original unit. Press the release tab and disconnect the harness.
- Connect the supplied OEM-match harness from the upgrade screen into the existing factory socket. The connector is keyed and will only seat in the correct orientation — do not force.
- Carefully seat the new climate control screen into the aperture, ensuring the panel edges align flush with surrounding trim before applying firm, even pressure to click into place.
- Restore the ignition and verify all climate control functions — temperature, fan, seat heating, defrost — respond correctly through the new touch interface.
⚠ Important: Professional installation is recommended. If you are unfamiliar with interior trim removal on the L494 platform, we advise engaging a qualified Land Rover specialist or approved independent workshop. Improper removal of the centre console trim can result in cosmetic damage not covered under the product guarantee.
