- Park your Defender on a level surface and allow the front grille area to cool completely if the vehicle has been recently driven.
- Using a clean microfibre cloth and isopropyl alcohol (70% or higher), thoroughly degrease and clean the entire surface of the factory grille where the overlay will bond.
- Allow the surface to dry completely — approximately 5 minutes — before proceeding to test-fit the overlay without adhesive.
- Confirm alignment across all edges and apertures, ensuring the grille sits flush and centred against the factory panel.
- Peel the backing from the pre-cut adhesive strips and carefully position the gloss black grille overlay from the centre outward, pressing firmly along each adhesive contact point.
- Apply sustained hand pressure across the full surface for 30–60 seconds to maximise initial bond strength.
- Allow a minimum of 2 hours before driving — 24 hours for full adhesive cure in colder climates.
⚠ Important: Do not install in temperatures below 10°C (50°F) as adhesive performance is significantly reduced in cold conditions. Avoid pressure washing directly at the grille edges for the first 48 hours post-installation.
