Required Steps
- Drain engine oil and coolant into clean containers. Dispose of fluids responsibly.
- Remove the old oil cooler assembly from its mounting bracket on the engine block.
- Disconnect oil inlet and outlet hoses, then coolant supply and return lines. Keep fittings clean.
- Remove and discard old O-ring gaskets from the mounting surface.
- Install new gasket set (LR013151, LR013161, LR013162) onto the cooler ports—hand-tighten only.
- Position new cooler assembly and secure mounting bolts to OEM torque specification (typically 8–10 Nm).
- Reconnect oil and coolant lines with new crush washers if worn.
- Refill with OEM-spec engine oil and coolant. Bleed cooling circuit and check for leaks.
- Run engine at idle for 5 minutes, check oil pressure gauge and temperature readout, then verify no drips.
- Test-drive and confirm diagnostics clear (no cooling-related fault codes).
Critical: Do not reuse old O-ring gaskets. Improper seating of gaskets will cause oil weeping and potential coolant contamination. Torque specs matter—over-tightening can damage the aluminum core.
