Disconnect battery negative terminal and wait 5 minutes for residual power to drain.

Locate the sensor on the top of the cylinder head, driver's side (consult your model-specific manual for exact position).

Unplug the electrical connector — press the retaining clip and pull firmly away.

Remove the single retaining bolt using the appropriate socket or spanner.

Lift the old sensor straight out — do not force. If stuck, apply penetrating oil and wait 10 minutes.

Clean the mounting surface with a lint-free cloth. Do not use solvents that may damage seals.

Install the new sensor — align the connector correctly and ensure the bolt thread engages smoothly. Torque to 9–11 Nm (7–8 ft-lbs).

Reconnect the electrical connector until you hear the retaining clip click.

Reconnect the battery and start the engine. Allow idle for 2 minutes.

Scan for fault codes using a code reader. Code P0016 (camshaft/crankshaft misalignment) should be absent.
⚠️ Important: Do not over-torque the retaining bolt — this can strip the threads in the cylinder head. If resistance is felt before reaching target torque, stop and re-check bolt alignment. Always dispose of the old sensor responsibly.
