Installation
Difficulty: Advanced | Time: 4–6 hours
Professional engine work recommended. Requires removal of intake manifold, oil pan, and cylinder head covers.
- Disconnect negative battery terminal; allow engine to cool fully.
- Drain engine oil into a suitable container; remove oil pan and gasket.
- Remove intake manifold and associated gaskets from cylinder head.
- Unbolt cylinder head covers (RH and LH); lift off old gaskets.
- Clean all gasket surfaces thoroughly with appropriate solvent; allow to dry.
- Install new gaskets in reverse order, torquing per OEM specification (typically 8–12 Nm).
- Refill oil to specification; reinstall drain plug and tighten.
- Reconnect battery; start engine and check for leaks at all seal points.
- Allow engine to idle 10 minutes; recheck gasket seals for any weeping.
- Clear any diagnostic codes if triggered; perform test drive to confirm stability.
⚠ Important: Do not reuse old gaskets. Always clean contact surfaces meticulously—residual gasket material or debris will cause premature leaks. Refer to your vehicle's service manual for torque specs and tightening sequence. If you're unfamiliar with engine work, have a qualified technician perform the installation.
