Drain coolant. Place drain pan beneath radiator. Open petcock or remove lower hose to drain system completely. Dispose of old coolant responsibly.

Remove water pump housing bolts. Unbolt water pump from engine block using appropriate socket set. Gasket may stick—gently pry with plastic scraper.

Inspect mating surfaces. Clean both engine block and pump housing with soft cloth or gasket scraper. Remove all old rubber compound and debris. Surfaces must be dry.

Install new gasket. Position fresh gasket over dowel pins. Ensure correct orientation and alignment with inlet/outlet ports.

Install water pump connector (if replacing). Fit new O-ring seal or connector as applicable. Secure with factory-spec bolts in cross-pattern.

Torque bolts to specification. Typically 18–25 Nm for standard fasteners. Do not over-tighten; use calibrated torque wrench.
