Installation & Support
Difficulty Level: Intermediate | Time: 30–45 minutes
- Disconnect negative battery terminal and allow engine to cool fully (minimum 2 hours).
- Drain coolant into approved container via radiator petcock or lower hose clamp.
- Locate water outlet housing at front of engine block (upper passenger side, beneath intake manifold).
- Unbolt old thermostat hose assembly using 13mm and 10mm sockets; note clamp orientation.
- Remove old seals; inspect housing bore for debris or corrosion. Clean with lint-free cloth.
- Position new hose assembly and align mounting bosses. Apply fresh coolant to seals before installation.
- Torque fasteners to 25 Nm (upper) and 18 Nm (lower). Do not over-tighten polymer connections.
- Refill coolant to cap line with OEM-spec mixture (e.g. Glysantin ALG or equivalent).
- Run engine at idle for 5 minutes with heater on full. Check for weeping around new hose seals.
- Top up coolant as needed. Replace radiator cap and reconnect battery.
Warning: Coolant is toxic. Dispose of old fluid responsibly at a local recycling center. Do not pour down drains. Wear eye protection and gloves during work. If coolant contacts skin, rinse immediately with clean water.
