Overview
If you own a Land Rover Freelander LR2 (2006–2014) with the 3.2L petrol Si6 engine, or select Volvo models (XC90, S80L, S80, S60, V60), you know that sustained engine performance depends on precise thermal management. Your oil cooler works silently in the background—until it doesn't. A compromised cooler leads to elevated oil temperatures, reduced lubrication viscosity, and accelerated wear on bearing surfaces and piston rings.
This is a direct OE-specification replacement cooler, engineered in aluminium for optimal heat dissipation and longevity. It's engineered to work seamlessly with your vehicle's existing coolant loop and oil circulation system. Built to Nissens 90826 standards, it restores factory cooling performance and protects your engine during high-load driving, towing, or sustained motorway runs.
We've sourced this as a Partsmost aftermarket component—the sensible choice for owners who demand quality without the OEM price tag. All parts arrive tested, with full compatibility documentation and our 30-day money-back guarantee.

⚠ Fitment Note: Always verify your engine displacement and model variant before purchase. We recommend cross-checking your VIN or existing oil cooler part number (LR001426, 30757620) with our team at +44 203 943 9919 if you're unsure. Some regional variants and turbocharged models may differ.
Installation Notes
Difficulty: Moderate | Time: 2–4 hours
-
Preparation: Disconnect negative battery terminal. Allow engine to cool fully for at least 2 hours. Raise vehicle safely on jack stands or a lift.
-
Drain Oil: Place drain pan beneath sump. Remove drain plug and allow oil to drain completely. Replace sump gasket as needed.
-
Access: Remove lower undertray and/or radiator shroud for cooler access (vehicle-specific). Some models require removal of the power steering reservoir.
-
Remove Old Cooler: Disconnect inlet and outlet hose clamps from the old cooler. Note hose orientation. Remove mounting bolts and lift out the cooler carefully.
-
Clean Mounting Surface: Wipe mounting bracket and engine block contact points with a clean lint-free cloth. Remove any old gasket material or corrosion.
-
Install New Cooler: Position the new cooler, align mounting holes, and hand-tighten bolts. Torque to 20–25 Nm (15–18 lb-ft) in a star pattern. Do not overtighten.
-
Reconnect Hoses: Attach inlet and outlet coolant hoses. Use new hose clamps (stainless steel, recommended). Torque clamp screws firmly but not aggressively.
-
Refill & Bleed: Add fresh coolant and engine oil to the prescribed levels. Start the engine and allow it to idle for 5–10 minutes. Check for leaks at all connections.
-
Final Check: Verify temperature gauge behaviour under a short test drive. Oil temperature should stabilize within normal range. Allow a further 30-minute soak before full-load operation.
⚠ Important: Do not run the engine without coolant. Dispose of old oil responsibly. If you are not confident in your mechanical ability, have this installation performed by a qualified technician. Improper installation can result in coolant or oil leaks, which may damage the engine.
