Installation Notes
Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 2–3 hours per bank

Disconnect battery negative terminal and allow engine to cool to ambient temperature.

Remove coil pack assemblies from both valve covers (note orientation).

Unbolt valve cover using a 10mm socket; remove old gasket and inspect mating surface.

Clean mating surface thoroughly with degreaser and lint-free cloth; no residue.

Position new gasket on the cover; do not use sealant unless specified by gasket edge.

Reinstall valve cover bolts in a crisscross pattern; torque to 8–10 N⋅m (6–7 ft⋅lbf).

Replace spark plug hole seals by carefully pressing new rubber seals into each well (hand pressure only).

Reinstall coil packs and torque to spec (typically 4–5 N⋅m).

Reconnect battery and start engine; check for oil leaks at idle and under light load for 5 minutes.
⚠ Torque Warning: Over-tightening valve cover bolts can crack the cover or strip threads. Use a calibrated torque wrench and tighten in a star pattern. If you're unsure of your torque spec, consult your service manual or a qualified technician.
