- Park the vehicle and ensure the interior lighting is on to clearly identify the reading light surround area on the overhead console.
- Thoroughly clean the surface of the existing light frame using an isopropyl alcohol wipe. Remove all dust, grease, and residue. Allow to dry completely — this step is critical for adhesion.
- Dry-fit the trim piece first to confirm alignment and confirm it sits flush against the console surround without gaps.
- Peel the protective backing from the adhesive tape on the rear of the trim piece.
- Carefully position the trim, aligning it precisely with the reading light frame, then press firmly and evenly for 30–60 seconds to bond the adhesive.
- Allow a minimum of 2–4 hours before exposing the trim to direct heat or vibration — ideally leave overnight for a full cure.
Important: Do not install in cold or damp conditions — adhesive performance is significantly reduced below 10°C. Ensure the surface is completely dry and at ambient temperature before fitting. This trim is designed exclusively for Discovery 3 / LR3 models (2004–2009); attempting to fit on other vehicles may result in poor alignment.
