Installation Notes
Difficulty: Easy · Estimated Time: 15–20 minutes · Tools Required: None
- Ensure the gear selector and surrounding trim area is clean, dry, and free from grease, dust, or any existing wax or polish residue. Use an IPA (isopropyl alcohol) wipe for best adhesive performance.
- Dry-fit each cover piece over the gear shift head surround before committing — confirm alignment with all edges and panel gaps before removing the adhesive backing.
- Peel back the protective liner from the double-sided adhesive on the first piece, taking care not to touch the adhesive surface.
- Align the cover carefully over the gear shift head trim, starting from the top or a clearly defined reference point, then press firmly downward across the full surface.
- Apply sustained hand pressure for 30–60 seconds across the entire panel to ensure full adhesive contact, paying particular attention to edges and corners.
- Repeat the process for the second piece. Allow 12–24 hours before exposing the trim to heavy use or cleaning to allow the adhesive to fully cure.
⚠ Note: Do not attempt installation on a cold surface or in low-temperature environments — adhesive performance is significantly reduced below 15°C (59°F). If the factory trim surface has been previously treated with silicone-based interior dressings, clean thoroughly with IPA before fitting to ensure a lasting bond.
