Installation Notes
DIY Difficulty: Intermediate | Estimated Time: 2–3 Hours
- Disconnect negative battery terminal and allow engine to cool to ambient temperature.
- Remove upper intake manifold cover and disconnect all vacuum hoses, coolant lines, and electrical connectors from the lower manifold.
- Unbolt the lower intake manifold from the cylinder head using the correct socket and breaker bar. Keep fasteners organized.
- Carefully lift the manifold away and inspect the mounting surface for debris, corrosion, or damage. Clean thoroughly with a gasket scraper and isopropyl alcohol.
- Position the new OEM gaskets (left and right) onto the cylinder head studs, ensuring proper alignment with bolt holes.
- Reinstall the lower manifold and hand-tighten all fasteners in a star pattern. Consult the included torque specification chart.
- Reconnect all coolant lines, vacuum hoses, and electrical connectors. Double-check each connection.
- Fill and bleed the cooling system, check for leaks with the engine running at idle for 5 minutes.
- Allow the engine to cool, then retorque all manifold fasteners to final specification.
⚠ Important: Do not reuse old gaskets. Always use a new gasket set when reassembling. If coolant lines or fasteners show signs of corrosion, replace them as well. Improper torque or misalignment will cause leaks.
