Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 1.5–2 hours

Disconnect the negative battery terminal and allow the engine to cool for at least 30 minutes.
Locate the engine block heater inlet connection below the intake manifold (passenger side on V6 engines, driver side on V8 engines).
Place a drain pan beneath the hose connection. Loosen the hose clamp using a flathead screwdriver and gently twist the hose to break the seal.
Slide the old hose off the inlet stub. Inspect the stub for corrosion or damage; clean with a soft cloth if needed.
Position the new hose over the inlet and tighten the factory hose clamp firmly—do not over-tighten, as this can compress the reinforcement and restrict flow.
Route the hose along the same path as the original, using factory clips and tie-downs to prevent abrasion against hot engine surfaces or sharp edges.
Reconnect the negative battery terminal and refill the coolant reservoir to the full mark using OEM coolant only.
Start the engine and allow it to idle for 2–3 minutes, then inspect all connections for leaks before taking to operating temperature.
