The 2.0 Diesel AJ200D timing chain system is the heartbeat of Land Rover Range Rover Sport, Discovery Sport, Range Rover Velar, and Range Rover Evoque models equipped with 2.0L turbodiesel engines—and identical architecture is found in Jaguar F-TYPE, XE, XF, F-PACE, and E-PACE platforms. This complete timing chain guide arm and tensioner kit restores critical valve timing synchronisation without compromise.

Timing chain wear accelerates under high mileage, fuel stress, or extended oil change intervals. A failing guide arm, tensioner, or stretched chain creates slack in the camshaft timing, causing rough idle, reduced fuel economy, elevated emissions, and eventual engine damage. Installation Notes

⚙️ Timing Chain Replacement — Advanced

Difficulty: Professional-level. Requires engine bay access, timing tools, and detailed mechanical knowledge.

Estimated Time: 6–10 hours (varies by technician experience and engine configuration)

  1. Secure the vehicle on a lift with engine off and coolant drained.
  2. Remove spark plugs, valve cover, and timing cover to expose the chain runs.
  3. Use a timing lock tool to fix the crankshaft and both camshafts in the TDC position.
  4. Remove old chain tensioners and note their orientation; disconnect auxiliary sensors as needed.
  5. Unbolt all worn guide arms (primary upper, primary lower LH/RH, secondary LH/RH) and remove old timing chains.
  6. Install new primary lower guide arms (LR120540 LH, LR124262 RH) and tighten to factory torque spec.
  7. Install new primary upper guide arm (LR073756) and verify clearance with cylinder head.
  8. Wrap new primary timing chain (LR132676) around crankshaft sprocket, then up and around primary camshaft sprocket; lock timing marks.
  9. Fit new primary tensioner (LR138833) and hand-tighten until the piston extends fully.
  10. Install secondary guide arms (LR073755 LH, LR073761 RH) and route the new secondary timing chain (LR132675) around both camshaft sprockets.
  11. Install secondary tensioner (LR084294) and verify both chains maintain even tension.
  12. Rotate the engine 360° twice by hand to confirm free rotation and correct timing mark alignment.
  13. Reinstall timing cover, valve cover, spark plugs, and refill coolant.
  14. Start engine and listen for noise; confirm oil pressure and idle stability before full road test.
