Steps

Disconnect battery negative terminal (wait 2 minutes for systems to power down).

Remove engine cover and air intake hose as needed to access the camshaft sprocket. The intake actuator sits atop the intake cam; exhaust sits atop the exhaust cam.

Unplug the electrical connector from the solenoid. Note the wire colors for reassembly.

Remove the single large fastener (typically a Torx T45 or socket bolt) securing the sprocket flange to the camshaft. Have a helper support the cam belt tensioner if needed.

Slide the old actuator off the camshaft. Clean the mounting surface and surrounding area with a lint-free cloth. Wipe away any oil or carbon deposits.

Position the new actuator onto the camshaft, aligning the flange keyway. Install the fastener finger-tight first.

Torque to spec (typically 30–35 Nm or 22–26 ft-lb). Do not over-torque; the actuator body is aluminum and can crack.

Reconnect the electrical connector. Ensure the clip is fully seated and the wires are not pinched.

Reassemble engine cover and intake components in reverse order.
