Installation Guide

Disconnect battery negative terminal — Allow engine to cool fully for 30 minutes minimum before commencing work.

Drain coolant system — Open petcock on radiator lower hose; capture fluid in approved waste container. Do not dispose down drain.

Remove upper radiator hose — Loosen hose clamp and gently separate connection. Small coolant spillage is normal.

Unbolt housing assembly — Remove three M8 bolts (torque spec: 25 Nm) connecting housing to engine block. Retain fasteners for reinstallation.

Disconnect sensor wiring — Gently twist electrical connector counterclockwise; unplug from housing loom.

Install new housing — Position replacement unit, ensuring gasket seats flush against engine face. Install bolts and torque to spec in diagonal sequence.

Reconnect sensor — Align connector and twist clockwise until audible click confirms seating.

Reattach radiator hose — Slide upper hose onto thermostat outlet; secure with original clamp.

Refill coolant system — Pour approved Land Rover coolant (OAT-spec) until reservoir reaches "cold fill" line. Bleed air pockets by running engine at idle for 3 minutes.
