Installation
Difficulty Level

What You'll Need
- Torx bit set (T20, T25)
- Socket set (metric)
- Gasket scraper (plastic, not metal)
- Gasket sealant (Loctite 243 or equivalent)
- Engine oil (for refill if drained)
Steps
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal to reset engine fault codes.
- Allow engine to cool completely. Do not work on a hot engine.
- Locate the crankcase vent valve on top of the cylinder head (passenger-side area).
- Disconnect the hose clamp and carefully remove the intake hose.
- Remove the old vent valve using appropriate sockets or Torx bits. Note orientation.
- Clean the gasket surface on the cylinder head with a gasket scraper. Remove all old gasket residue.
- Apply a thin bead of gasket sealant to the new valve seating surface.
- Install the new vent valve, torque fasteners to OEM spec (typically 8–10 N⋅m).
- Reconnect the intake hose to the vent valve outlet. Secure the hose clamp.
- Reconnect the negative battery terminal. Start engine and check for leaks.
- Clear any fault codes with a diagnostic scanner (optional but recommended).
