Installation
DIY Installation — 45 minutes | Difficulty: Intermediate

Prepare: Engine cool. Disconnect negative battery terminal. Remove engine cover (if fitted) to access cylinder head cover.

Locate valve: Find the crankcase vent valve assembly on the top of the cylinder head cover, near the intake manifold side.

Disconnect hoses: Note hose routing with a photo. Carefully disconnect the crankcase vent hose and any breather lines using a small flat-head screwdriver or hose clamp tool.

Remove old valve: Unbolt the valve housing (typically 1–2 bolts). Remove the old valve and gasket. Clean the mounting surface with a soft lint-free cloth.

Install new valve: Position the new valve on the cylinder head cover with a fresh gasket. Install bolts hand-tight, then torque to 10 Nm (7.5 ft-lbs).

Reconnect hoses: Attach hoses to the new valve in their original positions. Ensure hoses are fully seated and secure any clamps.

Test: Reconnect battery. Start engine and listen for any unusual sounds. Check for leaks after a 5-minute idle.

Refit cover: Replace engine cover if removed. Job complete.
⚠ Note: If you notice oil in the hose system or excessive crankcase pressure, replace the valve immediately. Do not ignore PCV warning lights—they indicate crankcase pressure imbalance and can lead to gasket failure and oil leaks.
