- Using a 10mm socket or wrench, unbolt the lower attachment point on the old gas spring.
- Carefully lower or compress the old spring and unbolt the upper point (typically a ball-stud fitting).
- Install the new gas spring by reversing the process: upper ball-stud first, then lower attachment, tightening both securely.
- Repeat for the second (passenger-side) spring to ensure balanced pressure.
- Test the bonnet—it should open smoothly and hold fully open without sagging.
