Installation Notes
Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 15–30 minutes

Disconnect battery: Remove negative terminal from 12V battery (prevents accidental electrical discharge).

Remove steering column cowl: Unscrew 4× Phillips-head fasteners from lower steering column cover. Set aside carefully.

Locate switch assembly: Push-button switch sits directly above the steering column, integrated into the ignition surround.

Disconnect electrical connector: Press release tab on 6-pin connector (white housing). Gently withdraw towards you.

Remove mounting clips: Two spring-loaded clips flank the switch body. Depress both simultaneously and lift switch free.

Install new switch: Align replacement switch with mounting posts. Press down firmly until clips engage (you'll feel / hear a soft click).

Reconnect electrical: Insert 6-pin connector into new switch housing until it seats fully. Verify the release tab is fully seated.

Refit steering column cowl: Align cowl and reinstall 4× fasteners. Do not overtighten (snug is sufficient).

Reconnect battery: Restore negative terminal. Vehicle will perform a brief electrical self-test (normal).

Test operation: Turn ignition to ON (lights illuminate). Press START button. Engine should crank normally. Confirm all dashboard lights extinguish when engine is running.
