- Thoroughly clean the panel surface around the button recess using an isopropyl alcohol wipe or similar degreaser. Allow to dry completely — adhesion depends on a clean, grease-free surface.
- Test-fit the trim piece without removing the adhesive backing to confirm alignment and positioning before committing.
- Peel the adhesive backing from the reverse of the trim piece carefully, ensuring the tape remains flat and undistorted.
- Align the trim precisely over the button recess and press firmly from the centre outward, applying sustained pressure for 30–60 seconds across the full surface.
- Allow the adhesive to cure for a minimum of 24 hours before exposing to moisture, extreme temperatures, or heavy use.
