Installation Notes
🔧 Difficulty: Moderate · ⏱ Estimated Time: 45–75 Minutes · 🛠 Tools Required: Trim removal tool, T20 Torx driver, flathead screwdriver
- Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface with the ignition off and keys removed. Allow any existing lights to cool completely before handling.
- Using a trim removal tool, carefully prise the existing fog light surround away from the front bumper. Work gradually around the perimeter to avoid cracking the surrounding fascia.
- Locate and remove the T20 Torx screws securing the factory fog light unit to the bumper bracket. Retain these fixings for reinstallation or use the supplied hardware.
- Disconnect the factory wiring connector from the back of the existing fog light unit by pressing the tab and pulling firmly. Do not pull on the wiring loom itself.
- Connect the plug-and-play harness from the new LED unit to the factory connector — it should click firmly into place with no force required.
- Align the new LED fog light housing into the bumper aperture and secure using the Torx screws. Check alignment against the bumper line before fully tightening.
- Briefly reconnect the battery and test both fog light and DRL functions before refitting the trim surround. Confirm both left and right units activate correctly.
- Refit the fog light surround trim and press firmly until all clips engage. Repeat the full process for the opposite side.
⚠ Note: Professional installation is recommended if you are not comfortable working with automotive electrical systems or plastic trim components. Incorrect fitment may affect the performance of the lighting unit or the integrity of the bumper fascia. Always verify your Defender's specific build variant before ordering.
