Installation
Difficulty: Beginner · Time: 2 minutes
- Remove your BMW smart key from pocket or bag.
- Locate the seam between the key fob halves on the side edge.
- Gently insert a flat tool (coin or plastic lever) into the seam and twist slightly to open the fob.
- Separate the two halves carefully without forcing any internal components.
- Slide the carbon fiber cover shell over the upper or lower half (depends on design orientation).
- Press the fob halves back together until they click into place — do not overtighten.
- Test all three buttons to confirm full functionality before daily use.
Note: The internal smart key mechanism remains completely unchanged. This cover is purely protective and aesthetic. If your key has any battery or electrical issues before installation, address those separately.
