Installation Notes
Installation Overview — Difficulty: Intermediate · Estimated Time: 3–5 Hours
- Raise and safely support the vehicle to access the underside along the sill area.
- Position and bolt the vehicle-specific mounting brackets to the chassis using the hardware provided — no drilling required on 90 L663 models.
- Attach the electric motors and step arms to the mounted brackets and secure all fixings to torque spec.
- Route the wiring harness from each motor through the sill channel toward the control module mounting location.
- Connect the control module to your vehicle's door signal wire (identified in the installation guide) and to a switched 12V power source.
- Test deployment and retraction on both sides before final cable management and tie-off.
- Lower the vehicle, confirm ground clearance is unaffected in the retracted position, and verify smooth step operation through multiple door cycles.
