Prepare the vehicle: Park on level ground, engage handbrake, allow engine to cool fully (minimum 2 hours after shutdown).

Drain coolant: Open the coolant expansion tank cap slowly to relieve pressure. Position a catch tray beneath the radiator drain plug and remove it. Allow full drain (typically 5–8 liters).

Remove hose clamps: Locate the outlet tube connecting the thermostat housing (on block) to the water pump inlet. Loosen hose clamps at both ends using an appropriate sized wrench or socket.

Remove old tube: Gently twist and slide the tube away from both connections. Some coolant may still be trapped—have rags ready.

Inspect connection ports: Wipe thermostat and pump ports clean. Check for corrosion or debris; clean with soft cloth if necessary.

Install new tube: Align the new outlet tube onto both ports. Ensure it seats fully against the ports before tightening clamps.

Secure clamps: Tighten hose clamps snugly but do not over-torque; clamp bolts should be hand-tight plus one-quarter turn. Over-tightening can crack the rubber.

Refill coolant: Pour fresh coolant (OEM-spec or equivalent 50:50 mix) into the expansion tank until the level reaches the "COLD" mark. Reinstall cap.

Bleed air: Start the engine and allow it to idle for 2–3 minutes. Monitor coolant temperature on the dashboard. If air enters the system, you may feel a brief loss of cabin heat. Open the expansion tank cap slightly (with the engine running and only if fully cooled) to purge trapped air; top up if needed.

Check for leaks: Run the engine at idle for 5 minutes. Inspect both hose connections and clamp areas for weeping or dripping. Tighten clamps incrementally if minor seeping occurs. If leaking persists, stop immediately and re-check tube seating.

Road test: Drive gently for 10 minutes to bring the engine to operating temperature. Return to your workspace and re-check coolant level and clamps after a 15-minute cool-down.
