Installation Notes
🔧 Installation Overview
Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 45–90 minutes | Tools: Socket set, coolant drain pan, gasket scraper, torque wrench

Drain coolant: Place drain pan under the radiator. Open the bottom drain plug and lower hose clamp to empty the system (save 2–3 liters for refill).

Remove inlet/outlet hoses: Unbolt the heater inlet and outlet hoses from the manifold tube using a 10mm socket. Plug openings to prevent coolant loss.

Disconnect the sensor: Carefully unplug the temperature sensor wiring harness from the old tube.

Unbolt the manifold tube: Remove the three M8 bolts securing the tube to the cylinder head or engine bay bracket. Lift away the old assembly.

Clean gasket surfaces: Use a plastic gasket scraper to remove old sealant and debris from the cylinder head mounting points. Wipe clean with a lint-free cloth.

Install new tube: Position the new manifold tube and reinstall the three bolts. Torque to 23 Nm (17 ft-lbs) in a star pattern to ensure even seating.

Connect the sensor: Plug the temperature sensor wiring harness into the new assembly—it will click when fully seated.

Reattach hoses: Reconnect the inlet and outlet coolant hoses, securing hose clamps firmly (do not overtighten).

Refill coolant: Pour fresh coolant (Land Rover Approved Coolant or equivalent 50/50 mix) into the radiator filler neck. Bleed air by opening the thermostat housing bleed valve while filling until coolant flows steadily.

Test and check: Start the engine and allow it to idle for 5 minutes. Verify no leaks at hose connections or around the manifold sealing surface. Check that cabin heat reaches full temperature within 10 minutes of driving.
