Installation Notes

Coolant System Drain: Allow engine to cool fully. Place a catch pan beneath the radiator lower hose. Open the radiator drain valve and drain coolant completely. (Disposal: recycle used coolant at an auto parts store or mechanic facility.)

Water Pump Access: Remove the serpentine belt tensioner and belt to expose the water pump and inlet tube assembly. Unbolt the pump from the timing cover.

Remove Old Feed Pipe: Disconnect the cylinder head inlet connection (upper hose clip). Unbolt the tube bracket from the engine block. The tube should pull free with gentle twisting—do not force.

Install New Feed Line: Position the new tube so both ends align with the water pump outlet and cylinder head inlet port. Hand-tighten all clips and bolts; check alignment before final torquing.

Torque Specification: Tighten mount bolts to 8–10 Nm (6–7 lb-ft). Do not over-tighten; PA66 can crack under excessive load.

Refill Coolant System: Close the radiator drain. Fill the radiator and expansion tank with OEM coolant (typically MB 325.3 spec). Bleed air from the system by running the engine at idle with the cap off until steady coolant flow is observed.

System Pressure Test: Install radiator cap and run the engine to 80°C. Monitor for leaks at all connection points. Recheck after 5 minutes at operating temperature.

Belt Reassembly: Reinstall the serpentine belt and tensioner. Verify all belt edges are properly seated.
⚠ Important: Coolant is toxic. Dispose of drained fluid responsibly and keep it away from children and pets.
