Installation Notes

- Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent accidental coolant system pressurization.
- Allow the engine to cool completely—do not work on a warm cooling system.
- Locate the water pump feed line connecting the radiator to the water pump inlet and cylinder head.
- Disconnect hose clamps using a flat-head screwdriver or hose clamp tool.
- Carefully remove the old inlet pipe—expect residual coolant spillage.
- Inspect the connecting ports on the water pump and cylinder head for debris or damage.
- Position the new feed line, ensuring proper routing away from hot exhaust components.
- Secure with original hose clamps (typically two)—do not overtighten.
- Refill the cooling system with fresh Mercedes coolant to the cold fill line.
- Run the engine at idle for 5 minutes, then allow to cool and top up as needed.
- Check for leaks at both connection points before returning to service.
