Upper Radiator Coolant Hose for Land Rover Freelander 2 L359 (2008–2012) – 3.2L Petrol

OEM-spec replacement hose engineered to maintain optimal coolant flow and thermal stability under demanding conditions.

L359 2008–2012 3.2L Petrol Upper Radiator Rubber Reinforced OEM LR000931

Overview

The Land Rover Freelander 2 (L359) represents a turning point in affordable Land Rover ownership. Its 3.2-litre petrol engine delivers reliable power across diverse driving conditions, from urban commutes to light off-road work. But like all modern cooling systems, it depends on precision-engineered hoses to regulate thermal load and prevent catastrophic overheating.

This upper radiator coolant hose is the direct replacement for the factory component (OEM part number LR000931). Manufactured to the original equipment specifications, it features reinforced rubber construction designed to withstand high-pressure coolant flow, extreme temperature fluctuations, and the vibration cycles endemic to Land Rover platforms. Whether yours has developed cracks from age or hardened after years of use, this hose restores proper coolant circulation and thermal management.

Direct fit, OEM-quality construction, and 12-month warranty. Fits 3.2L petrol Freelander 2 models from 2008 through 2012. No cutting. No adapters. Plug-and-play reliability.

Installation Notes

Difficulty Level: Intermediate | Time: 45–90 minutes

  1. Preparation: Allow the engine to cool completely. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  2. Drain coolant: Place a drain pan beneath the radiator. Loosen the radiator drain plug (bottom-left). Coolant will flow—dispose responsibly.
  3. Remove clamps: Locate the upper radiator hose. You'll find hose clamps at both ends (one at the radiator inlet, one at the thermostat housing). Loosen both clamps using a Phillips or flat-head screwdriver.
  4. Disconnect hose: Gently twist and pull the old hose away from both connection points. Some coolant residue may drip—keep your drain pan positioned.
  5. Install new hose: Slide the new hose onto both the radiator inlet fitting and the thermostat housing inlet. Push firmly until seated (you should feel a slight resistance).
  6. Secure clamps: Position hose clamps approximately 1 cm (½ inch) from each end of the hose. Tighten firmly—not over-tight (risk of hose crushing).
  7. Refill coolant: Close the radiator drain plug. Pour OEM or approved aftermarket coolant into the expansion tank until the level reaches the MIN/MAX mark. Do not overfill.
  8. Bleed air: Replace the expansion tank cap. Start the engine and allow it to idle for 5 minutes. Turn off, wait 5 minutes, and recheck the coolant level. Top up if needed.
  9. Test drive: Take a short, gentle drive (10 minutes) to circulate coolant through the new hose. Monitor dashboard temperature gauge—should remain in the normal range.
  10. Final check: Stop, wait 5 minutes for cool-down, then inspect both hose connection points for leaks. Tighten clamps slightly if any seepage is visible.
Coolant hazard: Never work on the cooling system while the engine is hot or warm. Coolant under pressure can cause severe burns. Always allow a full cool-down (minimum 30 minutes after engine shutdown).
