Installation Notes
Difficulty: Intermediate · Estimated Time: 60–90 Minutes
- Safely disconnect your BMW's battery negative terminal before beginning any work on the dashboard or infotainment bay.
- Remove the factory CCC head unit using appropriate trim removal tools — take care around the iDrive controller surround and climate fascia clips.
- Disconnect all factory harness connectors from the back of the CCC unit and set it aside safely.
- Connect the adapter's harness to the factory connectors using the supplied loom — the unit is designed as a direct plug-in replacement for the CCC bay.
- Carefully slide the adapter into the Double DIN aperture, ensuring it sits flush with the surrounding trim and securing any mounting brackets.
- Reconnect the battery, power on the vehicle and follow the on-screen pairing guide to connect your iPhone via Bluetooth for initial handshake — CarPlay then transfers to Wi-Fi automatically.
- Configure steering wheel control mapping and camera input settings through the unit's Android settings menu as required.
⚠ Important: Verify your vehicle is equipped with the CCC platform (not CIC or NBT) before purchasing. Check your existing head unit — CCC units display "Navigation" or "Business" branding and were fitted to pre-2009 E-Series models.
