Installation Notes

- Open tailgate fully and support with a prop rod or helper.
- Locate the upper and lower ball joint connectors on each factory gas spring.
- Using a small flathead screwdriver, carefully pry off the retaining clips from each ball joint.
- Disconnect the old spring and remove it from the vehicle.
- Position the new gas spring, aligning the upper and lower ball joints with the mounting points.
- Press the ball joints firmly into place until the retaining clips snap securely.
- Test the tailgate operation—it should open and close smoothly with controlled resistance.
- Repeat for the second gas spring on the opposite side.
