Important: Two CV boot variants exist for these vehicles. Before purchasing, please verify your part number matches GKN 305631 / GKN 25408 / TDR500100, or contact us with your VIN for confirmation.
Installation Notes
Difficulty Level: Intermediate
Requires vehicle lift, basic socket set, and CV boot removal tool. Professional installation recommended if unfamiliar with driveshaft work.
Estimated Time: 2–3 hours per side
- Safely lift vehicle and support on axle stands. Remove wheel and brake caliper.
- Unbolt driveshaft from diff flange and wheel hub.
- Remove old CV boot clamp rings using suitable tool or cut-off method.
- Slide old boot off CV joint and inspect joint for pitting or wear.
- Clean CV joint thoroughly with degreaser. Do not allow dirt ingress.
- Position new boot on joint and apply compatible CV joint grease inside boot (grease not included).
- Secure new clamp rings with clamp tool to OEM torque specification.
- Reinstall driveshaft, torque bolts to spec (typically 80–100 Nm at diff, 100–110 Nm at hub).
- Refit wheel and brake caliper. Lower vehicle and test drive.
⚠ Important: Do not install this kit without CV joint grease. Dry installation will result in immediate joint failure. Source CV joint grease (NLGI Grade 2, lithium-complex) before beginning work. If unsure, have a qualified Land Rover specialist perform installation.
