Installation Notes

Difficulty: Moderate | Time: 45–60 minutes

Disconnect: Open the tailgate and secure it in the fully open position with a prop rod or assistant.
Remove old lifts: Locate the two gas strut ball studs at the base of the tailgate and the attachment points on the load floor. Use a 10mm socket to unbolt each strut.
Install new lifts: Align the new gas struts with the same mounting holes. Insert bolts and torque to 18 Nm (13 lb-ft). Ensure both struts are seated flush.
Test cycle: Gently open and close the tailgate 5–10 times. Confirm smooth, controlled operation with no drift or resistance.
Final check: Verify both struts hold load equally. If asymmetrical, recheck bolt tension.

⚠ Safety Note: Never work under an open tailgate without a secure mechanical prop. Failing gas lifts may release suddenly. Keep hands clear during test cycles.
