- Thoroughly clean the existing gear panel trim surface using an isopropyl alcohol wipe or trim prep spray. Ensure the surface is completely free of dust, grease and moisture before proceeding.
- Dry-fit the cover trim piece against the panel to confirm alignment and positioning before committing to adhesion. Check all edges sit flush with no lifting at the corners.
- Peel back the protective liner from the pre-applied automotive adhesive tape on the rear of the trim piece, exposing the bonding surface.
- Carefully align the trim with the panel and press firmly from the centre outward, applying consistent pressure across the entire surface for 30–60 seconds.
- Allow the adhesive to cure fully — ideally leaving the vehicle undisturbed for 24 hours at room temperature before driving in extreme conditions. Avoid washing the interior surface during this cure period.
⚠ Note: Surface temperature affects adhesion quality. Do not attempt installation in a cold environment (below 10°C / 50°F). If your vehicle has been sitting in direct sunlight, allow the cabin to cool before fitting. Failure to properly clean and dry the surface is the most common cause of adhesive bond failure.
